Session Seventy-Six
In which the party talks to a blue Elf

Adoness and Talon spent time in trees, eventually knocking out or freezing in place the two remaining Vorn soldiers left behind who were tracking them to the tree.

Desmond and Enna spent time talking with the Silver Fox of the Forest, who told them his tale of the Kraken, the fierce beast he trapped below the Lost Island, and urged the group to kill it for good if they wake it.

The session ended with a bang!

Session Seventy-Four and Seventy-Five
In which the party finds a dragon and a secret base

The group managed to bluff their way into the Tarnwood Forest, past a Vorn guard outpost. It wasn’t going so well, until a stern look from Adoness put the officer in his place.

After a day and a half’s travel in the forest, avoiding several Vorn patrols the whole way, the group stumbled upon a conflict between HRG soldiers and a large dragon. After some talking, and many careful words, Enna managed to talk down the Dragon from exacting wrongful vengeance upon those gathered, while the rest of the party assured that no one had weapons drawn against the creature.

Afterwards, the HRG officer present requested that the party come with him to talk to his leader. He made several hard requests of the party, which Enna and Desmond accepted in stride, while Talon and Adoness decided to stay put, waiting to hear back from Enna.

With no weapons and being blindfolded for the entrance into the hideout, Enna and Desmond were lead underground to the HRG complex, where they were quickly taken to the Room of Truth. There, they answered several questions from the officer Halmand, upon completion of which he was satisfied that the two were trustworthy.

Meanwhile, back in the tree Adoness and Talon were hiding in, Vorn troops had shown up and began searching the area….

Session Seventy-Three
In which the party talks a bit

Desmond had a grand old time finding, fighting, and freeing his small little protege who had been under armed guard, but has remained on the Newmark Guard’s watchlist of criminals. The rest of the party spent some time talking with Tim, who mentioned Wellfall and its possible interest to the group, as well as several other topics.

When Desmond arrived back at Tim’s shop, he immediately bought a Wand of Silent Image, and placed the mark of a crudely drawn werebunny in the sky. The party left for the Tarnwood Forest early the next morning.

Session Seventy-Two
In which the party gets a ruler to kiss a ruby

Much happenings occurred while the party waited for Enna’s meeting with the Prince of Shadows. Enna and Adoness spent much of their time in the library, fully and completely understaffed, while Desmond went bar-crawling and Talon spent some time with Tim.

Enna confirmed quite a few facts about dragons, as well as found a book detailing the life of Numenix, an ancient red dragon who used to make his home in the mountains of Polidin’s Gap. Desmond found out a bit more about the mood of the people, and Tim gave Talon
some information on prime real-estate in the land.

Eventually, Enna was given her audience with the Prince of Shadows. Much wordplay ensued, and at the end Enna was granted her wish to have the man kiss her ruby, providing the party with one of the last four items they need for their quest.

In the meantime, Adoness, Talon, and Desmond waited for their Cleric friend outside Newmark castle. While there, they encountered a small pre-teen girl who appeared to be an apprentice pick-pocket. Desmond, being fully supportive of this lifestyle, covered for the girl while she made her escape from the guards with one of Adoness’ money pouches, full of 3,000 gold pieces.

Desmond, hands now unbound from an encounter with the guards, ended up on the run from the Newmark Guard, just as the girl was. A magical image of his face appeared in the sky, alerting the populace to his wanted status. The session ended with Enna and the group heading back to Tim’s, while Desmond found himself tracking eight armed armored guards which were escorting the girl back to the castle.

Session Seventy-One
In which the party returns to dry land

Setting sail again, the party led Arab through the waters, still under the pretense of chasing the sea serpent. After a few more days on the water, Arab approached the group again, asking for direction, as the ship only had a few days of supplies left. The party made the decision to head towards Eastport, as it was the closest to where Desna was leading them.

Upon reaching the port, the group said their goodbyes to Arab, informing him that their journey was taking them elsewhere. Desmond paid his mercenaries the 1750 gold he owed them, but also asked for his repeating crossbows back, which he promptly burned. Enna and Adoness charged their Gnoll fanatic, Redfang, with the duties of selling off their half of the trade goods that were recovered from the lighthouse, asking him to meet them back in Newmark when he was done.

Speaking of Redfang, he has know gained some skills as a cook, having spent time with Marcus on the Mermaid’s Tide.

The party used their Orb of Escape as soon as they were a fair enough distance away from Eastport, arriving to a changed Newmark just outside of Tim’s shop.
In the month since your last time spent here, much seems to have changed. The city seemed dull and muted compared to last you saw it, people much less enthusiastic about life, apparently. The Artisan Guild Hall had been closed, and the guard presence seems to have increased, with multiple patrols seen in a short time. Additionally, most shops and houses were seen to have bars on their windows and heavily locked doors, and you quickly learned from Tim that under the leadership of the Prince of Shadows, while the keep has not starved, they have been exerting more and more control over the citizens.

Enna set up a meeting with the Prince of Shadows, after retrieving her pages from one of his pages. Tim also informed the group that the blue elf they were looking for is none other than Xu Xlaar Vivan, the Silver Fox of the Forest, leader of the Hallfree Resistance Group. He also mentioned that he was a bit tied up at the moment, as word had it that the Vorn had found the secret forest hideout of the HRG in the Tarnwood after stumbling into it while searching for mystical armored beasts.

The session ended with Enna getting word of her meeting with the Prince of Shadows, and Talon finally perfecting his formula for a Stasis Bomb!

Rewards:

Stasis Bomb:
Once per day, Talon can create and throw with a standard action a Stasis Bomb, which works on the same principles as the Elude Time extract. The creature hit is subject to a Will saving throw, DC 15 + Talon’s Intelligence modifier. If the creature hit succeeds its Will save, it is placed in stasis for one round, before it breaks free.

Session Seventy
In which the party loots a lighthouse

The party finished moping up the last of the cultists, with Adoness slaying their priest of Lamashtu outright, and the remaining cultists attempting to jump out the windows to escape. One, a small Gnoll barely over four feet in height, changed his allegiance from Lamashtu to Adoness and Enna, apparently recognizing the two of them now as his deity. He has been following the party ever since, and despite Adoness’ and Enna’s attempts to show him that Desna is the one to follow, he still insists upon worshiping the two of them.

After figuring out what the purpose of the lighthouse was, the party looted the place, returning to the ship and Captain Arab to make arrangements. The party turned up with:

During the fighting, Desmond had been critically wounded and subsequently killed; after the battle on the next day, Enna Resurrected the Rogue and removed his negative level.
Desmond brought back from the grave a message from Desna, saying something about enchanting and things.

The session ended with the captain and crew loading up supplies into the ship, and preparing to set sail once again to find the sea serpent!

Session Sixty-Nine
In which the party takes out a bunch of cultists

The group fought their way inside the lighthouse, and now it’s time to fight their way through!

Facing off against not only a few modestly equipped cultists, but also an archer and a priest of Lamashtu, the party took a few hits, but managed to clear out the majority of their enemies.
